Mansfield Town have confirmed that they have signed Oliver Sarkic on loan from Blackpool until the end of the season.<\/p>\n
He is their second signing of deadline day and their third of the window, following the arrivals of Jamie Paddington<\/a> and George Lapslie on a permanent deal.<\/p>\n Born in Grimsby, Sarkic began his career in the Anderlecht, before joining Benfica in 2014. He progressed through the Portuguese sides academy, going onto make 44 appearances for the B team.<\/p>\n Sarkic then sealed a move to Leeds United<\/a> in 2017, again initially joining the U23 side. However, he did not feature for the first-team at Elland Road, and was instead sent out on loan to Spain.<\/p>\n After his season-long loan with Barakaldo CF, the 23-year-old joined Burton Albion after completing a trial.<\/p>\n He enjoyed regular game time with the Brewers, making 37 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals in the process.<\/p>\n As a result of his performances, Sarkic earned a move to Blackpool last summer. After joining the club, he said<\/a>: \u201cI feel I can bring a great deal to the side, having spent some of my career in other countries around Europe. Not only that, but I had a really good experience last season with Burton Albion, so I know what to expect from League One.”<\/p>\n However, the move was not successful, as he made just one appearance for the Seasiders during the first half of the season.<\/p>\n Speaking about his new signing to the official Mansfield Town website,<\/a> Stags boss Nigel Clough said: “We know Ollie from his time at Burton and he\u2019ll provide us with a good option, playing anywhere across the front three.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s not played too much at Blackpool so he\u2019s raring to go.<\/p>\n \u201cHe has quality and pedigree.
