Harrogate Town<\/a> have confirmed that they have signed Josh Andrews on loan from Birmingham City<\/a> until the end of the season.<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old, who is yet to make an appearance for the first-team at St Andrews, is known for his height in the Birmingham City U23 side, standing at six feet three inches.<\/p>\n

Andrews is considered an exciting prospect by those at the Championship side. He signed his first professional in July 2020, agreeing a two-year deal with the Blues.<\/p>\n

The striker has been impressive form this season, and as a result, has earned himself a move to men’s senior football. Andrews has scored nine goals in 11 appearances so far this season for Birmingham U23’s, including four in a single game against Ipswich Town.<\/p>\n

What Was Said?<\/h3>\n

After completing his move, Andrews said to the Harrogate club website<\/a>: “I got a phone call last Friday regarding the move and I\u2019m delighted it\u2019s happened as it\u2019s my first loan move.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo come to a club playing league football will be a great experience for me.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst team football is what I\u2019m after. It\u2019s an increase in intensity and physicality and it’s where I want to play. Not only is this a great step in my career but hopefully I can help the club as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Town manager Simon Weaver added: “He\u2019s been scoring goals for fun with Birmingham\u2019s under 23s, he\u2019s a handful and he\u2019s reached that stage where he needs to experience first-team football.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe operate best with a big man and quick man upfront. Injuries have meant this is a great opportunity to bring in a young lad who has a lot of promise.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s his first loan which means it\u2019s not about starting every game but adapting to the culture and learning. When Birmingham told me he\u2019s the type of lad that\u2019s willing to learn, it became a no brainer for us.\u201d<\/p>\n
