Cardiff City<\/a> have confirmed that striker Robert Glatzel has completed a move to Bundesliga side Mainz<\/a> for the remainder of the season.<\/p>\n

Glatzel has fallen down the pecking order at the Cardiff City Stadium since the summer arrival of Kieffer Moore.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old German has struggled in the Championship since arriving for \u00a35.5 million in 2019, therefore the deal is expected to suit all concerned.<\/p>\n

Glatzel Looking Forward to Getting Started<\/h3>\n

Following his switch from Cardiff to German club Mainz, striker Robert Glatzel revealed that couldn’t;t wait to competing with the best in the Bundesliga. He said<\/a>:\u00a0“At Mainz, I now have the chance to play in the Bundesliga and compete with the best – I’m really looking forward to that.<\/p>\n

“I like the style of play, intense runs and aggressive pressing, that Mainz embodies suits my strengths.\u00a0I will try to stay up in the league with everything I have to offer and to fight every minute for the team and our common goal in training and on the pitch. ”<\/p>\n

Striker Will Be Immensely Valuable<\/h3>\n

Mainz Sporting Director Martin Schmidt appeared to be delighted with the capture of Glatzel. Following the announcement that the striker had signed, Schmidt said<\/a>:\u00a0“Robert is a classic centre forward who, with his strong trait towards goal and as a target player, optimally complements our squad and will therefore become immensely valuable for our team.<\/p>\n

“With a lot of experience from the second division in England and Germany, he is now dying to get into the Bundesliga.\u00a0We got to know Robert as a totally positive, open-minded guy who will also be wonderfully involved in the team off the pitch.”<\/p>\n

Robert Glatzel Will be Hoping to Get Career Back on Track<\/h3>\n

German striker Robert Glatzel will be hoping to get his career back on track following a frustrating time in Wales<\/a> with Cardiff<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Signed for \u00a35.5 million in 2019 from German second division side FC Heidenheim, his 17 goals in the 2018\/19 season prompted Cardiff<\/a> to take a chance on the striker.<\/p>\n

Despite flashes of what he could do in front of goal, Glatzel has not proved his worth just yet.<\/p>\n

Following 11 goals in 58 games for the Bluebirds, this loan move could be his chance to rediscover his best form before he returns in the summer.<\/p>\n
