Newcastle United<\/a> have signed Arsenal<\/a> midfielder Joe Willock<\/a> on loan for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n

The midfielder arrives at St James Park hoping to get some first-team action with football now limited at The Emirates.<\/p>\n

Steve Bruce has been chasing a midfielder throughout this transfer window and his pursuit has been successful.<\/p>\n

Newcastle United Sign Joe Willock on Loan From Arsenal<\/h2>\n

Willock Joins in Search of Regular Football<\/h3>\n

The talented midfielder has spent his entire career at Arsenal and made the step up to the first team. However, his football has been limited this season, making just seven Premier League appearances, equating to 238 minutes of football.<\/p>\n

Aside from that, Willock has featured regularly in Arsenal\u2019s Europa League campaign, featuring in five of Arsenal\u2019s six matches. At 21, Willock wants to play regularly and get some more minutes under his belt.<\/p>\n

Mikel Arteta does think highly of Willock but is aware he needs to play more in order to progress his development. The arrival of Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid<\/a> has pushed Willock further down the pecking order.<\/p>\n

Steve Bruce\u2019s Quest for a Midfielder Comes to an End<\/h3>\n

Arsenal\u2019s loss is Newcastle\u2019s gain for the rest of the season. The talented midfielder will bring extra creativity to a Newcastle side who struggle to create chances.<\/p>\n

Steve Bruce has chased a new central midfielder throughout this transfer window. Leicester City\u2019s Hamza Choudhury<\/a> and Paris-Saint Germain\u2019s Idrissa Gueye<\/a> have been amongst the names linked. But Willock is the man Steve Bruce has turned to.<\/p>\n

Willock joins a Newcastle side which has a new lease of life after a terrific win against Everton<\/a> in their last league game; a win which saw Newcastle play some excellent football as well as end their five-match losing streak and nine-match winless run.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen whether Willock signed in time for Newcastle\u2019s midweek clash with Crystal Palace<\/a>. But the midfielder should be available to face Southampton<\/a> next weekend.<\/p>\n
