Manchester City<\/a> will not be bringing Diego Costa<\/a> in on a free agent, according to BBC reporter Simon Stone.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Manchester City Won\u2019t Sign Free Agent Diego Costa<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Costa Has Been a Free Agent Since December <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Diego Costa will not join Manchester City in the January transfer window, despite being available on a free agent.<\/p>\n

The Spanish striker has been without a club since December 2020 after being released<\/a> by Atletico Madrid.<\/p>\n

Costa fell out of favour at Atletico after the arrival of Luis Suarez<\/a>. He has been on the lookout for a new club since, with Wolverhampton Wanderers one Premier League to have shown interest<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Manchester City Short on Strikers <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Manchester City have had problems in the striker department all season.<\/p>\n

Sergio Aguero<\/a> has struggled with injuries and the form of Gabriel Jesus<\/a> has left a hole in the Manchester City attack.<\/p>\n

Defensive stability has been the key to City\u2019s strong form in the absence of a consistent striker.<\/p>\n

Costa Could Offer City Experience\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Costa is a proven Premier League<\/a> goal-scorer having netted over 50 times during his time at Chelsea<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He also has experience in the Champions League<\/a>, having featured in the 2013\/14 final. Reports had linked City with a short-term move for the Striker.<\/p>\n

No Deadline Day Incomings For City<\/strong><\/h3>\n

It is expected that City will not make any additions to their squad on deadline day after previous links<\/a> to David Alaba<\/a> and Edin Dzeko<\/a> were also ruled out.<\/p>\n

The Blues are still competing on four fronts and will enter the latter stage of the season with their current squad.<\/p>\n

Departures from the Etihad are expected, with defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis<\/a> to move on loan to Championship<\/a> side Blackburn.<\/p>\n

Jayden Braaf<\/a> will join Serie A<\/a> side Udinese on loan, but the move will not include an option to buy.<\/p>\n

City lead the Premier League by four points and have a game in hand.<\/p>\n
