Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a> had not won at home in the Premier League this season until they came up against a woeful Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> at the Amex Stadium on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

Brighton Get First Home Win Against Woeful Tottenham Hotspur<\/h2>\n

No Harry Kane, More Pain for Spurs<\/h3>\n

Brighton began the match just six points above the relegation zone, despite being praised for their brand of football by managers such as Jurgen Klopp.<\/a> Yet style doesn\u2019t always win football matches and at home, Brighton have failed to get a win this season.<\/p>\n

Tottenham were without the injured Harry Kane<\/a> so Gareth Bale<\/a> started up front and his performance summed up Spurs. There was no sign of the player that once lit up world football and whatever has happened, Bale was taken off early in the second half. It’s hard to see him remaining in North London beyond this season.<\/p>\n

Tottenham were coming into the game on the back of a poor performance and defeat at home to Liverpool<\/a> so a good attitude and response was needed. It never came. Brighton peppered shots at the Tottenham goal – 17 in total – and were deserved winners. They were gritty, played neat football and made Tottenham look the team who are fighting at the wrong end of the table.<\/p>\n

Leandro Trossard Nets Brighton Winner<\/h3>\n

Brighton\u2019s goal owed much to their swift and accurate play. Pascal Gross<\/a> got behind the Spurs backline and Trossard<\/a> swept home at Hugo Lloris<\/a>\u2019 near post. The response from Spurs was non-existent. Time and again, they gave the ball away as they have so often in recent matches and as much as Brighton deserve credit for their ambitious approach, Tottenham need to take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror.<\/p>\n

Tottenham\u2019s Problems Keep On Mounting<\/h3>\n

It was a woeful Tottenham Hotspur performance that again raises questions about what is going wrong at the North London club who only a few months ago were being talked about as title contenders.<\/p>\n

This was another negative, tired and worrying performance from Spurs and even without Kane, the players they have should\u00a0be performing much better. Dropped points are one thing but the manner of two back to back defeats should ring alarm bells all around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The players look lost, lacking in creation and qualifying for Europe at all, let alone challenging for a first title in 60 years is starting to look like a tall ask unless something changes.<\/p>\n
