Watford<\/a> are reportedly in talks to acquire Bournemouth<\/a> midfielder,\u00a0Dan Gosling<\/a>. Adam Leventhal of The Athletic<\/a> has reported this transfer news as the two\u00a0Championship<\/a> clubs discuss a possible deal for the veteran player.<\/p>\n

Watford in Talks to Sign Bournemouth Man Dan Gosling<\/h2>\n

End of Contract Looms<\/h3>\n

Gosling’s contract with Bournemouth<\/a> is set to end in the summer. For this reason, the club will certainly be looking to avoid losing the player on a free transfer. The midfielder has been with Bournemouth since the summer of 2014 when he was signed from Newcastle United<\/a>. During his time with the Cherries, he’s scored 22 goals and registered nine assists in 193 appearances<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bournemouth recently brought in midfielder Ben Pearson<\/a> from Preston North End<\/a> which could make appearances for Gosling more hard to come by as the 2020\/21 campaign continues. With Watford losing top players in the midfield in the recent transfer windows, Gosling’s chances of receiving appearances may be more favourable with Watford.<\/p>\n

Watford Look to Bring in Reinforcements<\/h3>\n

Watford lost Etienne Capoue<\/a> on a transfer to Villareal<\/a> at the beginning of the January transfer window and have yet to sign a replacement following the departure of the veteran midfielder. If Watford are looking to bring in an experienced player then Gosling would be a viable option. Gosling would bring a wealth of experience to Watford’s squad as the 30-year-old has played in both the Championship and Premier League<\/a> in his career.<\/p>\n

Although he hasn’t been a regular in Bournemouth’s starting line-up this season, Gosling has still been receiving appearances. To date, he has 15 appearances in the Championship in the current campaign with two goals and one assist. Overall, a Gosling transfer deal wouldn’t be a bad move for Watford due to his experience and the depth he would provide in the midfield.<\/p>\n
