Despite rumours earlier in the month<\/a> suggesting a loan move away from the club may be on the cards, Brandon Williams<\/a> is set to stay at Manchester United.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

The news comes with Williams struggling to break into the first team due to competition from the re-emerging Luke Shaw<\/a> and the recently arrived Alex Telles<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In truth, a loan move would do the academy graduate good, but, following a 0-0 draw against Arsenal<\/a>, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remained adamant on the youngster’s future.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking after the game, the Manchester United manager said:<\/a> “Brandon will stay. He played 23s against Liverpool today, he needed match fitness, don’t have any other players that we think will be going, it’s a relentless season, and we go again on Tuesday.”<\/span><\/p>\n

At just 20-years-old, Brandon Williams has his whole career ahead of him to break into the Manchester United first-team.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And, whilst he waits for an opportunity, the only thing he can do is learn from the likes of Luke Shaw- who has been one of Manchester United’s best players in recent weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

All good youth players go through periods where patience is needed, but, when the chance does arise, Williams must take it. The academy graduate already proved last season that he is capable of stepping up in the absence of others.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps it is more a testament to United’s newfound squad depth rather than anything against Williams as to why he is currently left without first-team action.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As the Europa League nears its return, maybe then we’ll finally get to see Brandon Williams back in the first-team frame as United look to rotate. A loan move would have helped him, yes, but, as the fixtures pile up, his services may be needed once more at Old Trafford.<\/span><\/p>\n
