Lincoln City<\/a> have confirmed that Jorge Grant has agreed a new two-and-a-half-year deal, seeing him remain with the club until 2023.<\/p>\n

Jorge Grant to Remain With Lincoln City Until<\/h2>\n

Pivotal Player<\/h3>\n

Grant has arguably been the Imps’ Player of the Season, registering 11 goals and five assists so far this season.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old has been most effective from a deeper central role so far this season, having started his career predominantly as a winger. His control and quick-thinking on the ball has seen him help Lincoln become one of the best counter-attacking sides in League One this season.<\/p>\n

Despite his deeper role, Grant still offers a goalscoring threat for Michael Appleton’s side. The former Nottingham Forest man has been Lincoln’s free-kick and penalty taker this season, but has also been effective from open play, as seen with his superb long-range effort against Forest Green Rovers in the first round of the FA Cup.<\/p>\n

Grant has made 71 appearances in total during his time at the LNER Stadium, and tying him down to a new deal will be hugely important for the Imps in their push for promotion to the Championship.<\/p>\n

What Was Said?<\/h3>\n

Speaking about his move to the official Lincoln City website, Grant said: “I am delighted, there is huge ambition at the club and the whole structure we have is something I am happy to be a part of.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am thankful that the Gaffer has pushed me to make the most out of my potential. It won\u2019t stop now because I want to carry on doing what I have been doing this season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am really happy at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michael Appleton added: “We are delighted to keep Jorge at the club, he has played an important role this season and it is a pleasure to work with him.<\/p>\n

“He has really grown in stature as a player and has put in some outstanding performances in a number of positions.<\/p>\n

“Jorge has also shown determination and a high level of maturity in the dressing room and has led by example when given the captain’s armband. He is a real asset to this football club, and we will continue to work hard to achieve our goals.”<\/p>\n
