Chelsea<\/a> women’s team set a new record of 32 Women’s Super League matches unbeaten with a 4-0 demolition of Aston Villa<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Goals from Sam Kerr, Beth England, Pernille Harder and Magdalena Eriksson ensured the Blues eased to victory whilst setting a new WSL landmark.<\/p>\n

Chelsea Women Set WSL Record After Going 32 Matches Unbeaten<\/h2>\n

Since they lost to Birmingham in injury time two years ago, Chelsea have embarked on an astonishing unbeaten run.<\/p>\n

They have won 25 of 32 matches, securing the league title in 2019\/20, before this streak sees them set to defend their crown.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Chelsea TV after the game, via Sky Sports<\/a>, manager Emma Hayes stated: “The group is growing with me, it’s not like I’m here on my own. Some of us have been together three, four, five, six years and that collective wisdom is why we have more experience than most teams.<\/p>\n

“I’m always afraid of the youthful endeavour of our rivals because I know how important ambition and energy and drive is to winning.<\/p>\n

“What we are learning is to be consistent winners, we have to have consistent behaviours daily. If you come into our training environment, there’s no time for a passenger and that’s every day, including recovery days.”<\/p>\n

Latest Victory Sees Chelsea Regain Top Spot in Tightly-Contested WSL<\/h3>\n

Not only did a thumping win help Chelsea to achieve the milestone, but it also saw them leapfrog Manchester United<\/a> and return to the top of the table.<\/p>\n

Sitting above the Red Devils on goal difference, Chelsea will be buoyed by their latest win and the significance of their achievement which Hayes praised after the final whistle, saying: “This team will go down in history, I’m certain of it. I know when you’re winning a lot there’s just this expectation you’re going to keep doing it, but this is the best Chelsea team I’ve ever had.”<\/p>\n

With praise like that from their manager, the Blues will be hopeful of delivering a second successive title come the month of May.<\/p>\n
