Glenn Murray<\/a> has attracted the interest of Nottingham Forest, who are looking to bring in the 37-year-old striker until the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Having been loaned out to Watford<\/a> by his parent club Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a>, Murray has made just six appearances for the Hornets so far in 2020\/21.<\/p>\n

Nottingham Forest Keen on Glenn Murray as They Continue Search for Strikers<\/h2>\n

According to The Athletic<\/a>, Forest would be interested in signing the veteran forward on a permanent deal as they currently have five loanees – the maximum number permitted to feature in a matchday squad.<\/p>\n

Murray has cut a frustrated figure at Vicarage Road, starting just one game all season. The striker hasn’t played at all for Watford since October, notching up a mere 155 minutes of action.<\/p>\n

It was also revealed by The Athletic<\/a> in December that Murray would be allowed to leave Watford<\/a> this month in search of first-team football elsewhere ‘if various criteria are met then another loan or even a permanent transfer will follow’.<\/p>\n

After featuring just seven times for Brighton in 2019\/20, Murray was hopeful that a loan move would facilitate a return to playing regularly.<\/p>\n

Now that Forest have come calling, he may be able to feature prominently this season after all.<\/p>\n

Forest’s Lack of Goals Make Murray the Ideal Option<\/h3>\n

The Reds have struggled for goals throughout the first half of 2020\/21, finding the net just 20 times in 25 matches.<\/p>\n

Signing Murray would not only provide a reliable goalscoring threat, but the fact that he played under Chris Hughton at Brighton means Murray would be familiar with the role Hughton asks him to perform.<\/p>\n

Currently sitting just two points above the relegation zone, and with 22nd placed Rotherham having two games in hand on Hughton’s side, Murray’s knack of finding the net could prove crucial if Forest are to avoid the drop to League One.<\/p>\n
