Championship promotion hopefuls Watford<\/a> are looking to strengthen their squad with the addition of Matej Vydra<\/a>. Ryan Gray of the Watford Observer<\/a> and Andy Jones of The Athletic<\/a> are reporting that the Hornets want to take the Burnley<\/a> striker on loan this month.<\/p>\n

It is understood that discussions between the two clubs have taken place; however, Burnley are keen to keep him as a back-up option unless they can find a replacement. Vydra on the other hand wants first-team football.<\/p>\n

Burnley Willing to let Matej Vydra Leave<\/h3>\n

Matej Vydra is currently a back-up option for Sean Dyche<\/a> at present at Turf Moor. However, the forward understandably wants first-team football. Dyche could allow Vydra to leave during the current transfer window but wants a replacement in order to retain strength in depth within his squad.<\/p>\n

According to Alex James of Lancs Live<\/a>, Dyche has made an enquiry about Bournemouth<\/a> striker Josh King<\/a>. The Clarets have struggled for goals this season, scoring just ten in 18 Premier League games. Should a deal between Burnley and Bournemouth be agreed, Vydra could be heading to Watford for the third time in his career.<\/p>\n

Watford Want Burnley Forward Matej Vydra for a Third Time<\/h3>\n

Matej Vydra is no stranger to Watford and their fans. The Czech Republic international played 95 games over two spells earlier in his career, scoring 38 goals. In a loan spell during the 2012\/13 season, Vydra scored 22 goals in 47 games in all competitions. He was back at Vicarage Road between 2014 and 2017- scoring 16 goals in 48 games. A move back to a club he knows well could be his chance to get his career back on track.<\/p>\n

A Frustrating Time at Turf Moor<\/h3>\n

Matej Vydra has endured a tough and frustrating time at Burnley since joining. The striker signed from Derby County<\/a> following a successful spell in the Championship with the Rams. Vydra arrived for \u00a311 million in 2018 and has found goals hard to come by.<\/p>\n

Just three goals have come his way in the Premier League with a further four in other competitions. After 53 games for Sean Dyche, Matej Vydra could be heading out of the Premier League and back to the Championship.<\/p>\n
