Roma<\/a> are looking to strengthen their squad with FC Dallas<\/a> and USA<\/a> player Bryan Reynolds. The club is in great need of a full-back and will be hoping to complete the signing of the 19-year-old.<\/p>\n

According to Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, Roma have made a \u20ac7 million bid. Juventus<\/a> and Benevento<\/a> were working together to sign Reynolds, but Benevento’s director has confirmed that the player preferred Roma<\/a>. The youngster could complete his move to the Italian capital this week.<\/p>\n

What Reynolds Could Bring to the Squad<\/h3>\n

Much like Alphonso Davies<\/a>, Bryan Reynolds is a former winger turned defender. Reynolds has attracted the interest of many European sides with his pace, flair and defensive awareness. His abilities have made him a regular starter in the MLS at a young age.<\/p>\n

Paolo Fonseca’s 3-4-2-1 heavily relies on full-backs to support the attack and drop back to defend as a back five. However, the coach seemingly hasn’t been satisfied with his full-backs so far this season. This becomes apparent with the constant switches between Bruno Peres<\/a>, Rick Karsdorp<\/a> and\u00a0Leonardo Spinazzola<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bringing in Reynolds could allow Roma to spread out the play and create more space in the middle for Henrikh Mkhitaryan<\/a> and Lorenzo Pellegrini<\/a>. In recent weeks, the side has had difficulty creating chances. The American’s creativity could prove to be beneficial in that regard.<\/p>\n

What Could be the Repercussions of This Signing?<\/h3>\n

If Roma can complete this signing, chances are that they will sell Bruno Peres. The 30-year-old Brazilian is linked to a move to Benfica<\/a>, but Roma weren’t ready to negotiate without signing a replacement. Reynolds’ arrival could consequently give owner Dan Friedkin the green light to make the transfer happen and free up wage space.<\/p>\n

Roma will be hoping that Reynold’s impact will be similar to his CONCACAF counterparts Davies and Sergino Dest<\/a>. The last time Roma beat Juventus to a signing was during the Patrick Schick<\/a> saga. I Giallorossi<\/em> will look for a different outcome this time around.<\/p>\n
