Wolverhampton Wanderers<\/a> have completed the loan signing of Willian Jose<\/a> from Real Sociedad<\/a>\u00a0with an option to buy in the summer.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian striker joins on an initial loan with an option to buy for \u00a322 million and is an excellent cover for the long-term absence of Raul Jimenez<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wolves End Striker Search With the Signing of Willian Jose<\/h3>\n

Raul Jimenez is continuing his recovery from a fractured skull injury<\/a> he sustained in the victory against Arsenal<\/a> but with the recent slide down the table, the Black Country club opted to search for a new centre-forward.<\/p>\n

During his five-year stay in Spain, Jose scored 52 goals<\/a> in 143 appearances, including three goals this season helping his former side to sixth in the table.<\/p>\n

Wolves recalled Patrick Cutrone<\/a> from Fiorentina<\/a> at the start of the transfer window but, according to Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, the striker is set to depart the club for another stint in Italy. Italian sides Parma<\/a> and Benevento<\/a> are said to be interested in securing his services.<\/p>\n

More Experienced Option<\/h3>\n

Wolves had spent \u00a335 million in the summer on teenage prodigy Fabio Silva<\/a> who has been burdened with the responsibility in the Mexican striker\u2019s absence. He managed to score his second goal of the season against West Bromwich Albion<\/a> on January 16.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But a move for a more experienced option to the 18-year-old Silva comes after Wolves have failed to win a game in their last five games.<\/p>\n

Before joining the club, Willian Jose had been linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer with Tottenham Hotspur,<\/a> but a switch fell through after the London club refused to meet Real Sociedad\u2019s valuation.<\/p>\n

After his work permit issues were complicated by post-Brexit rules, Wolves’ new acquisition may be unavailable for Wednesday’s trip to Chelsea<\/a>.<\/p>\n
