{"id":579971,"date":"2021-01-22T12:14:15","date_gmt":"2021-01-22T17:14:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/?p=579971"},"modified":"2021-01-22T12:14:15","modified_gmt":"2021-01-22T17:14:15","slug":"what-to-expect-from-inter-milan-rebrand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2021\/01\/22\/what-to-expect-from-inter-milan-rebrand\/","title":{"rendered":"What to Expect From Inter Milan Rebrand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Internazionale Milan will change their name and badge in a large-scale rebrand for the Serie A giants, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gazzetta.it\/Calcio\/Serie-A\/Inter\/18-01-2021\/inter-nome-logo-inter-milano-3902588245007.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported by <em>Gazzetta dello Sport<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Rebrand to Come for Inter Milan<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Inter Milan Will Be the Club\u2019s New Name<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In a rebrand expected to be announced in March, the club will be officially recognised as Inter Milan, amid financial struggles for the Italian giants.<\/p>\n<p>It will see the Internazionale part of the club\u2019s name, which was introduced in 1908 due to their policy of accepting foreign players, dropped.<\/p>\n<p>It is believed that the Inter owners, Suning Holdings Group, wish to present the Serie A outfit as a more lucrative brand on a global scale.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes days after it was announced that MLS side <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/sports\/mls\/inter-miami\/article248619785.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Inter Miami would not be forced to change their name<\/a>\u00a0after it was claimed that the phrase &#8216;Inter&#8217; was synonymous with the Milan side.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>A Change of Badge to Come for Inter<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Along with the change to their name, Inter will also unveil a new badge as part of their identity change.<\/p>\n<p>The new logo will adopt a simplistic design, similar to that of <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/clubs\/juventus\/\" target=\"_self\">Juventus<\/a>, who switched their badge in July 2017.<\/p>\n<p>It will be Inter\u2019s sixth alteration to their badge since 1979, suggesting a continually evolving identity for the club.<\/p>\n<p>In the new minimalised logo, the letters \u2018I\u2019 and \u2018M\u2019 will focus heavily \u2013 a reference to the club\u2019s initials.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Why the Change for Inter Milan?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Whilst it may already be one of the most recognisable football badges in world football, the new logo will be easily transferable onto products, merchandise and digital media.<\/p>\n<p>The changes don\u2019t stop there.
