Internazionale Milan will change their name and badge in a large-scale rebrand for the Serie A giants, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rebrand to Come for Inter Milan<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Inter Milan Will Be the Club\u2019s New Name<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In a rebrand expected to be announced in March, the club will be officially recognised as Inter Milan, amid financial struggles for the Italian giants.<\/p>\n

It will see the Internazionale part of the club\u2019s name, which was introduced in 1908 due to their policy of accepting foreign players, dropped.<\/p>\n

It is believed that the Inter owners, Suning Holdings Group, wish to present the Serie A outfit as a more lucrative brand on a global scale.<\/p>\n

The news comes days after it was announced that MLS side Inter Miami would not be forced to change their name<\/a>\u00a0after it was claimed that the phrase ‘Inter’ was synonymous with the Milan side.<\/p>\n

A Change of Badge to Come for Inter<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Along with the change to their name, Inter will also unveil a new badge as part of their identity change.<\/p>\n

The new logo will adopt a simplistic design, similar to that of Juventus<\/a>, who switched their badge in July 2017.<\/p>\n

It will be Inter\u2019s sixth alteration to their badge since 1979, suggesting a continually evolving identity for the club.<\/p>\n

In the new minimalised logo, the letters \u2018I\u2019 and \u2018M\u2019 will focus heavily \u2013 a reference to the club\u2019s initials.<\/p>\n

Why the Change for Inter Milan?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Whilst it may already be one of the most recognisable football badges in world football, the new logo will be easily transferable onto products, merchandise and digital media.<\/p>\n

The changes don\u2019t stop there. Inter are also set to ditch long-term sponsors Pirelli, instead adopting Chinese real estate group, Evergrande as their new shirt sponsor<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pirelli have appeared on the face of the Inter Milan jerseys since the 1994\/95 season.<\/p>\n

When Will the Changes be Announced?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Having been knocked out of the Champions League in December, Inter have had their full focus on the two domestic competitions, with the chance of a Serie A and Coppa Italia double still on the cards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Inter will end the season with their current kit, badge and name, but will begin the 2021\/22 campaign sporting their new look.<\/p>\n

Gazzetta dello Sport <\/em>have suggested that the new changes will be announced as part of the club\u2019s 113-year anniversary celebrations in early March.<\/p>\n
