Manchester City<\/a> striker Sergio Aguero<\/a> has confirmed that he has tested positive for Coronavirus.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old confirmed the news via his personal Twitter account.<\/p>\n

‘Some Symptoms’<\/h3>\n

Aguero confirmed the news on his Twitter account<\/a> at 1:45pm. It read: “After a close contact, I’ve been self-isolating and the latest test I took was positive for COVID 19.<\/p>\n

“I had some symptoms and I’m following doctor’s orders for recovery. Take care, everyone!”<\/p>\n

The Argentine did not confirm when his most recent test was, but he will now enter a 10-period of self-isolation.<\/p>\n

Aguero’s positive test is the latest to occur at Manchester City. The club saw their game against Everton<\/a> at the end<\/a> of December postponed due to several positive tests, including Kyle Walker and Gabriel Jesus.<\/p>\n

Another Blow for the Argentine<\/h3>\n

Testing positive for Coronavirus is yet another blow for the Aguero this season. The Argentine has made just nine appearances so far this season, only two of which have been starts.<\/p>\n

Injuries have been hampering his progress, and now his manager Pep Guardiola believes that they are missing his presence in attack.<\/p>\n

“We miss him,” the Spaniard said to BBC Sport.<\/a><\/p>\n

“The numbers speak for themselves. He is the best striker in our history.<\/p>\n

“We need Aguero.”<\/p>\n

Aguero’s injury record will certainly raise questions has to how long he can continue playing at this level. He has been linked<\/a> with a move to Paris-Saint Germain, and the 32-year-old may view that as the perfect opportunity to see out his career.<\/p>\n

Should he remain at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola may look to reduce his minutes and manage his career carefully. They may look to bring another striker in as a long-term replacement to take over from Aguero. Erling Haaland is one player who has been linked,<\/a> but it would take a lot to prise him away from Borussia Dortmund.<\/p>\n
