In his second stint as manager at West Ham United<\/a>, a David Moyes<\/a> revolution is starting to bear fruit as he has brought about consistency to the East London club.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, David Moyes\u2019 West Ham United beat West Bromwich Albion<\/a> 2-1 in the Premier League to move up to seventh in the table, two points from fourth place and just six behind league leaders Leicester City.<\/a><\/p>\n

Since defeat to Chelsea<\/a> last month, The Hammers have gone six games unbeaten in all competitions, winning four and keeping four clean sheets.<\/p>\n

The results are showing the kind of consistency that the club lacked when he arrived partway through the 2019\/20 season when the club were languishing in 17th place. Jonathan Northcroft<\/a> of The Athletic<\/a> tweeted that, although Moyes has done a remarkable job, it is unlikely that he will see much praise sent his way.<\/p>\n

Consistency is Key<\/h3>\n

Before that win over West Brom, Moyes told the official West Ham United<\/a> website: “It has been tough to get consistency this season, but thankfully we\u2019ve shown bits of it at different times.<\/p>\n

“We’re in a decent run at this moment in time, but I don’t take any of it for granted. We know we’re going have to play really well and work very hard in every game we win.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s something I\u2019ve been trying to bring. I want to have a level of consistency, whether that be just general fixtures or in our league position over many seasons \u2013 we\u2019re trying to achieve a level of consistency. I have to say the players are performing really well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moyes has always been a grounded manager and never seen as being an extrovert. That shows in his comments, specifically his remarks about taking nothing for granted.<\/p>\n

Moyes Challenge to Players<\/h3>\n

Moyes may be grounded but he does want his players to be ambitious and not just a \u2018flash in the pan.\u2019 Being in the top seven and above the likes of Arsenal<\/a> is not something that has been commonplace for the Hammers in recent years and Moyes deserves credit for turning fortunes around, especially amid a global pandemic.<\/p>\n

He is happy with the current position but wants more and also long term to be finishing at the top end of the table.<\/p>\n

“We’re happy at the moment but I want this to be regular. Not halfway through the season but right until the end,” he added.<\/p>\n

What Next for the David Moyes Revolution?<\/h3>\n

West Ham United find themselves in a good position in the league and the next step for Moyes is to keep going and to produce positive results. League titles are a long way away but Moyes has got West Ham fans dreaming of top half finishes again rather than continual flirtations with relegation.<\/p>\n

Whilst fans might not be shouting Moyes\u2019 name from the rooftops, they should be showering their manager with praise. He has them competing more often and, if West Ham can keep the current run of form going, they will surely be looking at a European place come the end of the season. That would be a superb achievement for the Scot at a club where poor results and disappointing seasons have become all too normal since they moved to the London Stadium.<\/p>\n
