Leeds United<\/a> striker Patrick Bamford<\/a> has donated \u00a35,000 to a local primary school to help cover costs of remote learning during lockdown.<\/p>\n

Generous Patrick Bamford Donates to Help Remote Learning<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Money Used to Fund iPads and Equipment <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Bamford has donated the money, which will be used to fund 20 iPads, to Beeston Primary School, a school just a short drive from Elland Road.<\/p>\n

In a video message<\/a> addressed to the school, Bamford appealed to pupils to \u201ckeep going\u201d because the \u201ctough times won\u2019t last.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether you’re home-schooling, or adapting in your new bubble, I’ve heard you’ve all been working really hard and doing really well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bamford Urges School Pupils to Stay Active<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Joking with students, Bamford urged them not to \u201coverdo it\u201d with the PlayStation and Xbox, encouraging all pupils to be more active.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure a lot of you would rather be sat at home playing PlayStation or watching TV,\u201d continued the striker. \u201cBut remember, sometimes it helps to go outside and do a little bit of exercise.\u201d<\/p>\n

School \u201cBlown Away\u201d With Generosity <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Speaking to the BBC<\/a>, the school said that they are \u201cabsolutely blown away\u201d by the generosity shown by Bamford.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen he learned how many children and families are struggling to access remote learning at home, he personally donated \u00a35,000.”<\/p>\n

It is reported<\/a> that nine per cent of children in the UK do not have access to a computer or tablet suitable for doing work, highlighting the challenges schools and pupils are facing in lockdown.<\/p>\n

Bamford Amongst Group of Premier League Helpers<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Bamford is yet another high-profile Premier League<\/a> football to show their kindness since the pandemic outbreak began in March.<\/p>\n

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson<\/a> headed a group of 20 Premier League skippers that organised and raised<\/a> funds for the NHS in April.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere,\u00a0Manchester United<\/a> striker Marcus Rashford<\/a> has received plaudits from across the nation for his work in providing children with free school meals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This effort from Premier League footballers comes after Health Secretary Matt Hancock criticised<\/a> top-earning players for not taking a pay-cut to \u201cplay their part\u201d back in April.<\/p>\n

Patrick Bamford has enjoyed a stellar start to life in the Premier League with Leeds, notching an impressive ten goals in 18 matches this season.<\/p>\n

After a stuttering start to his career at Chelsea<\/a>, where the Englishman was loaned out six times in five seasons, Bamford has found comfort under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa.<\/p>\n

Leeds currently sit in mid-table, without any real signs of falling into a relegation battle, despite a recent dip in form.<\/p>\n
