Real Madrid<\/a> midfielder Martin \u00d8degaard<\/a> has told the club that he wants to leave. The 22-year-old is unhappy with a lack of game time, according to reports by Marca<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There is no doubting the ability of Martin \u00d8degaard, but the Norwegian has struggled to showcase his talents during his time in Madrid. In fact, the 22-year-old has managed just 11 senior appearances for Los Blancos<\/em> since his arrival as a 17-year-old in 2015. Of those 11 appearances, \u014cdegaard has completed 90 minutes on just one occasion.<\/p>\n

Despite playing under Zidane at Real Madrid Castilla<\/em>, the Norway international is yet to make his mark on the first time under the head coach.<\/p>\n

However, the midfielder believes that the manager doesn’t allow his enough opportunities to play for the club. The Norwegian is happy to explore another loan move away from Los Blancos<\/em> – a decision that could benefit both the player and the club.<\/p>\n

Loan Spells Away From Madrid<\/h3>\n

The majority of his time at Madrid has been spent on loan elsewhere. The 22-year-old spent 18 months at SC Heerenveen in the Eredivisie, where he made over 40 appearances. After finishing his loan spell, he returned to Holland and spent one season at Vitesse, where he was part of the Eredivisie Team of the Year for 2018\/19.<\/p>\n

Last season, \u00d8degaard enjoyed a loan spell closer to home after spending the season with Real Sociedad. The midfielder scored 21 goals and added 26 assists from his three loan spells away from Madrid.<\/p>\n

Despite his impressive displays while away on loan, the competition back in the Spanish capital is much more intense. Casemiro, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Federico Valverde and Isco are all had of the 22-year-old in the pecking order.<\/p>\n
