The recent transfer of Robert Snodgrass<\/a> from West Ham United<\/a> to West Bromwich Albion<\/a> is to face a Premier League<\/a> investigation.<\/p>\n

Premier League Will Investigate Transfer of Snodgrass to West Bromwich Albion<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Comments From Baggies Boss Sam Allardyce Spark Fury <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Snodgrass was left out of the West Brom side during their 2-1 defeat to West Ham United, with manager Sam Allardyce telling BT Sport it was down to an\u00a0\u201cagreement\u201d<\/a> made between the two sides.<\/p>\n

Allardyce suggested in his pre-match interview that: \u201can agreement between the clubs that this game he would not be allowed to play.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe could only get the deal done with that agreement\u201d, explained Allardyce.<\/p>\n

Transfer Could be in Breach of Premier League Rules<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The transfer may have breached Premier League rules, explained to all clubs in its handbook for the 2020\/21 season.<\/p>\n

Rule 17<\/em> states: \u201cNo club shall enter into a contract which enables any other party to that contract to acquire the ability materially to influence its policies or the performance of its teams in League Matches.\u201d<\/p>\n

Allardyce\u2019s comments implied with the alleged agreement that West Ham officials had influenced the West Brom team-selection, however,\u00a0reports<\/a> suggest it was never committed to writing.<\/p>\n

Potential punishments from the Premier League could include fines or points deductions.<\/p>\n

Snodgrass First Allardyce Signing <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Snodgrass swapped the London Stadium for the Hawthorns earlier this month for an undisclosed fee<\/a>. The 33-year-old has made just one appearance for the Baggies since his arrival. That came during the 3-2 win over Black Country derby against Wolverhampton Wanderers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The ex-Scottish international joined up with Allardyce in an attempt to save West Brom from an immediate return to the Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

West Brom currently sit in 19th<\/sup> position, five points adrift of their closest rivals having played two games more.<\/p>\n
