Birmingham City<\/a> teenager Jayden Reid<\/a> has joined Walsall<\/a> on loan for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n

The teenage striker spent the first half of the season at Barrow,<\/a> but will now link up with Darrell Clarke\u2019s side.<\/p>\n

Jayden Reid is the Saddlers\u2019 second January signing as they look to maintain their promotion bid.<\/p>\n

Walsall Sign Striker Jayden Reid on Loan From Birmingham City<\/h2>\n

The Striker Joins After a Handful of Appearances at Barrow<\/h3>\n

Reid is seen as one of Birmingham City\u2019s bright talents in their academy. He made a handful of appearances for the Blues during Project Restart<\/a> last season. Reid spent the first half of the season at Barrow but was limited to just ten league appearances.<\/p>\n

He failed to score or register an assist for the Bluebirds. Consequently, he returned to Birmingham City and will now remain in the Midlands with Walsall. Darrell Clarke has admitted his desire to bring in fresh attacking impetuous during this transfer window.<\/p>\n

Aston Villa<\/a> winger Tyreik Wright <\/a>joined last week, and now striker Reid will hope to make a positive impact. Darrell Clarke will be confident the fresh attacking blood he can help his side stay in the promotion race.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the Walsall website<\/a> about his new signing, Clarke said: \u201cWe\u2019re really pleased to add Jayden to the squad.<\/p>\n

“We lost Jake Scrimshaw so I wanted to give us a different attacking option and someone who has had a bit of League Two experience to give us more competition up front.<\/p>\n

“Jayden fits that profile and we’re looking forward to working with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reid could make his debut against Port Vale<\/a> this weekend. He did not sign in time to be able to face Morecambe<\/a> this evening.<\/p>\n

Reid Raring to Go Following Move<\/h3>\n

When talking about his move to Walsall, Reid said: \u201cI\u2019m really happy with the move here and I can\u2019t wait to get started.<\/p>\n

\u201cWalsall is a great club with history. Joining Walsall will be a great opportunity for me in my career, it\u2019s a strong side that\u2019s in a good position in the league too.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a young player making a step into league football it\u2019s always good getting experience but with the experience I need to show the club and the players that I am good enough to play and help the team finish as high as possible providing hard work, goals and assists.<\/p>\n

“I had a strong first half of the season at Barrow and got a taster of what league football is like.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom my first game I could feel the competitiveness and hunger to win games also how much it means to the players and staff.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I\u2019ll be looking to implement the same hunger and desire to win as much as possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the pitch I believe I will provide options.<\/p>\n

\u201cI describe myself as a modern day forward, who can play as a striker, behind the striker\/s, left forward or right forward positions. I am quick, technical and can use both feet.<\/p>\n

\u201cOff the pitch I will integrate with the players to help bond with my teammates, as I think that is equally as important, to help the bonding on the pitch.\u201d<\/p>\n
