Manchester United<\/a> midfielder Jesse Lingard<\/a> continues to look for a move away from the club after Nice<\/a> cooled their interest in a loan deal.<\/p>\n

After reports claimed the England international\u2019s representatives had held discussions with the French<\/a> side, an official approach never materialised.<\/p>\n

Now, according to reports in France with Nice-Matin<\/a>, Nice club president Jean-Pierre Rivere was quoted as saying: \u201cWe have seen a lot of names appear in the press without any merit. Our goal is to get our entire squad back together and we all aim to have a good second part of the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, that won\u2019t be the case, expecting a big transfer in the winter market. The context is totally inappropriate.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that the winter transfer window is very special and difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lingard Out in the Cold<\/h3>\n

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is yet to name the 28-year-old in a Premier League<\/a> squad this season, with all his appearances coming in cup competitions. The club is also yet to decide if he is to be allowed to leave this month.<\/p>\n

The England international last made a Premier League appearance in the last game of last season where his goal helped seal Champions League qualification in a crucial 2-0 win over Leicester City<\/a>. That goal was his first goal since December 2018.<\/p>\n

Lingard\u2019s contract now expires in 2022 after United<\/a> triggered a one-year extension but with the midfielder fallen down the pecking order; a move away could be ideal as the 28-year-old looks for first-team football ahead of the European Championships this summer.<\/p>\n

With Nice now turning down the option to sign the midfielder on loan; a host of clubs are still chasing the midfielder on loan. Inter Milan<\/a>, West Ham United<\/a>\u00a0Tottenham Hotspur<\/a>, Sheffield United<\/a>, Marseille<\/a> and Porto<\/a> are all still said to be interested in the 28-year-old midfielder.<\/p>\n
