Keane Lewis-Potter has signed a new contract that keeps him at Hull City<\/a> until 2023<\/a>. There is an option for a one-year extension.<\/p>\n

Keane Lewis-Potter New Contract Bodes Well for Hull’s Future Squad<\/h3>\n

From the age of 14, Lewis-Potter was involved in the youth ranks at Hull City.<\/p>\n

His professional contract came three years later.<\/p>\n

Since then, the 19-year-old has scored nine goals in 48 appearances.<\/p>\n

This includes seven goals this season in his 25 appearances.<\/p>\n

The EFL<\/a> recognised his performances this season, with Lewis-Potter winning the EFL Young Player of the Month award for September.<\/p>\n

A Star for the future<\/h3>\n

Lewis-Potter has began to emerge as a young star for Hull this season.<\/p>\n

The fact he is already scoring goals and scooping awards can only be a good sign of his progress.<\/p>\n

He is building on the praise that he received as a youth player.<\/p>\n

Nigel Adkins said<\/a>: \u201cHe\u2019s a young guy, diminutive in his figure, he\u2019s got a bit of pace and an eye for goal. Let\u2019s not put any pressure on him but let\u2019s be excited that somewhere down the line it\u2019s another player coming through the academy who\u2019s got a bright future at the club\u201d.<\/p>\n

‘It’s My Club’<\/h3>\n

Born in Hull, rising through their academy, Lewis-Potter will be able to continue his career at his beloved club.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m delighted,\u201d he said<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s taken a while but now I can focus on the games.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt means everything to me to play for Hull City. It\u2019s my club and I can\u2019t want to crack on.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe gaffer has been excellent with me. He\u2019s pushed me to become better and every day I feel like I\u2019m becoming a better player with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was quite a slow progression for me at first but this season I\u2019ve kicked on massively and the gaffer has helped me massively with that as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

McCann Delighted<\/h3>\n

Manager Grant McCann is very happy with giving Lewis-Potter a new contract.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re delighted Keane has signed and committed to the football club.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a big player for us and it\u2019s great to have him settled now so he can focus on his football.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love working with him and it\u2019s time for him to kick on now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hull Target First League Win Since January 2nd<\/h3>\n

Hull sit second in League One, chasing down league leaders Lincoln City. The gap currently stands at just three points.<\/p>\n

Joint second-highest scorers in the league, Hull will be boosted by securing the likes of Lewis-Potter. With over half the season still to play, The Tigers may need to dig deep and utilise all the resources they have.<\/p>\n

They face Accrington Stanley tomorrow at 5.30pm at the KCOM stadium. Hull will be hoping to grab a win after drawing their last two league matches.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Lewis-Potter will be hoping to get back on the scoresheet.<\/p>\n

His last goal was in the EFL Trophy against Fleetwood Town<\/a> before Christmas.<\/p>\n

But his form at the start of the season was tremendous. His five goals and one assist all came in the first ten league matches.<\/p>\n

Since then he has not had any involvement in a goal in the league. His playing time has also been restricted to more substitute appearances than starts.<\/p>\n

With his new contract under his belt, Lewis-Potter will undoubtedly be raring to go in the coming matches for the Tigers.<\/p>\n
