Union Berlin<\/a> have completed the signing of Leon Dajaku<\/a>. The 19-year-old arrives on loan from Bayern Munich<\/a> with the option to buy.<\/p>\n

Reports earlier this week<\/a> linked the youngster to the K\u00f6pernick club and now they have got their man.<\/p>\n

Dajaku Joins Union on Loan<\/h3>\n

Leon Dajaku has joined Union Berlin on loan but the club have the option to buy the 19-year-old. The promising youngster is Urs Fischer’s first signing of the winter window and he joins an Union side that are fifth in the Bundesliga.<\/p>\n

The winger has been a key part for Bayern Munich’s reserve team, where he won 3. Liga along the way. Dajaku has scored three goals from 14 appearances for the U23 side this season.<\/p>\n

What Was Said<\/h3>\n

Speaking to the clubs’ official website<\/a>, Dajaku said: “I’m sure that the move to Berlin is the right step for me.<\/p>\n

“Union offers me the opportunity to gain a foothold in the Bundesliga and to show myself at the highest level. The team has been exceptional this season and I’m now happy to be a part of it.”<\/p>\n

Oliver Ruhnert, Director for Professional Football at the club, added: “Leon is a highly-talented young player who has proven his abilities not only at youth level but also at first-team level.<\/p>\n

“Leon is fast, technical and can be used in different attacking positions. That’s why we are sure he can take his next development steps with us and in the Bundesliga.”<\/p>\n

What Dajaku Will Bring to Union<\/h3>\n

The signing of Dajaku should excite fans. The 19-year-old plays as a left-winger but can also play centrally and on the right.<\/p>\n

The signing comes at a good time with fellow forwards Max Kruse<\/a> and Joel Pohjanpalo<\/a> currently sidelined, while Sheraldo Becker took a knock in Friday nights win over Bayer Leverkusen.<\/p>\n

The youngster had also been attracting interest from several clubs across Europe<\/a>, including AC Milan, K\u00f6ln and Nice, so the signing is a real coup for the K\u00f6pernick club.<\/p>\n
