Cardiff City<\/a> have confirmed that they have signed striker Max Watters<\/a> from Crawley Town<\/a> on a three-and-a-half-year deal.<\/p>\n

Prolific Striker<\/h3>\n

The 21-year-old has caught the headlines during a prolific first half of the season in League Two.<\/p>\n

Watters registered 13 goals in just 15 appearances for Crawley, whom he only joined in the summer after being released by Doncaster Rovers. The forward averaged a goal every 79 minutes for John Yems’ side, and his goalscoring record was only bettered by Cambridge United’s Paul Mullin and Danny Johnson of Leyton Orient.<\/p>\n

Watters impressed from the off during his time with the Sussex-based club. The 21-year-old scored twice on his debut after coming on at half-time in a 4-0 win over Morecambe. A run of three goals in four games followed after his debut, as he helped Crawley climb the League Two table.<\/p>\n

What Was Said?<\/h3>\n

Speaking about his move to the Cardiff City website<\/a> after joining, Watters said: “When I first found out about Cardiff’s interest I was immediately attracted to it. Wales is a lovely place to live, so it came down to that really.<\/p>\n

“As a striker, you’ve got to score goals, and that’s what I’m here to do.<\/p>\n

“It’s a big game at home against QPR in midweek. It’s a shame that fans can’t be here so I can play in front of them. Hopefully I’m involved and hopefully we can get the win.”<\/p>\n

Cardiff fans may have to be patient with their new signing. While there is a huge amount of promise and expectation surrounding his move to the Cardiff City Stadium, it is a big jump from League Two to the Championship. Watters will take time to adjust and this can be a slow process, despite Neil Harris’ side currently sitting 15th in the Championship table.<\/p>\n
