Manchester United<\/a> midfielder Jesse Lingard<\/a> has held talks with Nice<\/a> over a possible loan move.<\/p>\n

The England international\u2019s representatives held talks with the French club, with an official approach expected next week according to Sky Sports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Several Clubs Including Nice Chasing Lingard<\/h3>\n

Manchester United<\/a> are reportedly open to exploring the options of letting Jesse Lingard<\/a> leave despite only extending his contract last year.<\/p>\n

Nice<\/a> are said to have beaten Premier League clubs Newcastle <\/a>and Sheffield United<\/a> to the signing of Lingard. According to reports<\/a> Sheffield United had contacted the Red Devils about the possibility of taking both Lingard and defender Brandon Williams<\/a> on loan for the rest of the season. However, according to The Athletic,<\/a>\u00a0Lingard is reluctant to drop into a relegation battle and is happy to bide his time for alternative offers.<\/p>\n

Lingard Hoping to Recapture Form<\/h3>\n

The 28-year old is yet to feature for Manchester United\u00a0in the Premier League<\/a> this season, with his last appearance coming over a year ago.<\/p>\n

Lingard started in United\u2019s FA Cup<\/a> win over Watford <\/a>on the weekend and was his third appearance this season, with the other two coming in the Carabao Cup back in September. He started in the third-round win over Luton Town <\/a>and then was bought on as a substitute in the fourth-round victory over Brighton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Since his fantastic season for club and country- including at the World Cup in 2018- the Warrington-born winger has failed to reach further heights. His significant decline in form and playtime has seen him become a part of Manchester United\u2019s matchday squad on four occasions; all as an unused substitute.<\/p>\n

The likes of Mason Mount <\/a>and Jack Grealish<\/a> have also led him to be overlooked by England manager Gareth Southgate at international level ahead of the Euros this summer.<\/p>\n
