AC Milan<\/a>\u00a0are in the midst of a stellar season, currently sitting first in the Serie A table. There’s plenty of games ahead, however, both domestically and in Europe, so the team is looking to add more reinforcements. According to Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, Chelsea<\/a>‘s Fikayo Tomori<\/a> is an option at centre-back.<\/p>\n

Fikayo Tomori an Option for AC Milan in January Window<\/h2>\n

Milan Centre-Back Depth<\/h3>\n

Milan’s two starting centre-backs are Alessio Romagnoli<\/a> and Simon Kjaer<\/a>. That will not change throughout the season, barring injury. Romagnoli is the team’s captain while Kjaer is the most consistent performer on defence.<\/p>\n

The depth options include Matteo Gabbia<\/a>, Pierre Kalulu<\/a>, and Mateo Musacchio<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gabbia is a solid option when needed, but currently has COVID-19 and has been injured in the past. He’s also getting his feet wet in the top tier this season. The same goes for Kalulu. The Frenchman is a natural right-back but has been deployed at centre-back this season. His performances have been solid, but a more reliable option would be better.<\/p>\n

Musacchio used to be a consistent starter for the club. There’s no doubt that he is fairly talented. With that being said, he hasn’t played for months due to injury.<\/p>\n

Leo Duarte<\/a> featured for Milan a few times this season as well. He is now a loanee on \u0130stanbul Ba\u015fak\u015fehir as of this week.<\/p>\n

Looking at this, Gabbia is the only somewhat reliable depth option. Milan are looking for another addition to keep pushing for the Scudetto<\/em>.<\/p>\n

What Tomori Brings<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Tomori is a tough and determined centre-back. He probably wouldn’t start for Milan but brings solid experience from the Premier League. Being from Chelsea also means he knows what it takes to make it to the top.<\/p>\n

Romano reports that Tomori is eager to leave Chelsea, and Milan can very well be a great change of scenery. He’ll have the opportunity to continue to improve his game on a team full of young and hungry players, but lead by fiery veterans.<\/p>\n

According to Romano, however, Tomori looks to be Milan’s second option behind Mohamad Simakan<\/a> of Strasbourg. The Rossoneri\u00a0<\/em>are now an attractive spot for youngsters eager to both grow and win. Italy’s transfer window closes on February 1, leaving Milan with time to consider their options.<\/p>\n
