Bayer Leverkusen<\/a> are in advanced talks with Manchester United<\/a> over a deal for full-back Timothy Fosu-Mensah<\/a>, according to Samuel Luckhurst<\/a> and\u00a0 Fabrizio Romano<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Dutch full-back is available if Manchester United\u2019s valuation<\/a> is met. He is very much a back-up option at Old Trafford and needs game time.<\/p>\n

According to Romano, personal terms have already been agreed. The two sides remain in discussion over a fee but there are positive signs that the deal is progressing well.<\/p>\n

Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester United in Advanced Talks Over Timothy Fosu-Mensah Deal<\/h2>\n

Fosu-Mensah Has Made Just Three Appearances This Season<\/h3>\n

The Dutch international has barely featured for United this season. He has played just three times and has struggled to stay fit and impress Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.<\/p>\n

His future at Old Trafford is uncertain following comments made by Solksjaer<\/a> last week. A move to Germany appears an exciting prospect for Fosu-Mensah, with Bayer Leverkusen going very well this season. Injuries have hampered his time at Manchester United but he has shown the potential to become a great player.<\/p>\n

His best time in English football was a loan spell at Crystal Palace<\/a>. He spent the 2017\/18 season at Selhurst Park and became a regular in their defence as Palace finished 11th in the Premier League. Fosu-Mensah has only recently turned 23, so his best years are ahead of him if he can maintain his fitness and stay injury-free.<\/p>\n

The Full Back Set for Bayer Leverkusen Move<\/h3>\n

It appears a move to Germany would suit all parties. Fosu-Mensah will join Bayer Leverkusen for regular game time and a chance to secure some silverware. Peter Bosz\u2019s side have established themselves as genuine title contenders this season. Leverkusen are just four points behind leaders Bayern Munich<\/a> in the Bundesliga<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bosz has been looking to strengthen the right-hand side of his defence. Injuries to Mitchell Weiser and Santiago Arias<\/a> have left Leverkusen short at right-back. Austrian international Aleksandar Dragovic has filled in but he is naturally a centre -ack. Fosu-Mensah would fill the void and ease the concerns of the manager.<\/p>\n

If the deal continues to progress well, he could sign for Leverkusen this week in time for their trip to Union Berlin<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n
