Carlisle United have signed striker Offrande Zanzala<\/a> until the end of the season following his release from League One side Crewe Alexandra.<\/p>\n

Striker Looking to Fire Carlisle Back to League One<\/h3>\n

Top of the league, Carlisle United are looking to secure promotion back to League One. The Cumbrians are looking to return to the third tier of English football for the first time since 2014.<\/p>\n

Chris Beech’s side are one point clear of Newport County and Forest Green Rovers respectively but have played one game more than the Welsh outfit.<\/p>\n

Beech will be hoping the arrival of Zanzala can help push his side towards promotion from League Two.<\/p>\n

What Was Said<\/h3>\n

Speaking to the clubs’ official website<\/a>, Beech said: \u201cBeing honest, Ozzy is a player we\u2019ve had on the radar for some time.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe came to prominence at Accrington where he did ever so well in League One last year and before that, when he was breaking through at Derby, he was a player with the physical attributes, pace and power – added to the knack of getting a goal – that made him stand out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHe ticks the boxes in terms of our own style of play, much more so than others we looked at and provides real options to integrate into our attacking style quickly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cFrom the conversations I\u2019ve had with him he already has good rapport with a number of our own lads, like Callum Guy, who he grew up with, Nick Anderton, who he played with at Accrington, and Aaron Hayden, who he played against regularly in youth football in the midlands.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Zanzala Was Released From Crewe Last Week<\/h3>\n

Zanzala struggled to make an impact at Crewe, despite only joining the newly promoted League One side in the summer<\/a>. The 24-year-old had made just five appearances for Alex in the league this season.<\/p>\n

But he has impressed elsewhere. Zanzala spent time on loan at Stevenage, Chester and Accrington Stanley while at Derby County.<\/p>\n

He joined Stanley permanently in 2018 and netted 15 goals in 66 appearances for John Coleman’s side.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
