Borussia Monchengladbach are close to signing Kouadio Kone<\/a> from Toulouse, according to\u00a0<\/span>Fabrizio Romano<\/span><\/a>. The French midfielder, who also goes by the name ‘Manu’, had earlier been close to signing for AC Milan but will now snub the Italian giants to join Monchengladbach.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Borussia Monchengladbach are set to pip AC Milan for the signing of highly-rated French midfielder\u00a0<\/span>Kouadio Kone<\/span>. According to Romano, the German side have agreed on personal terms with the midfielder and will complete a \u20ac9 million from Toulouse. The news comes as a big setback for AC Milan, who were in the pole position to sign the 19-year-old midfielder. The Italian giants had reportedly made <\/span>a \u20ac5 million bid for the midfielder<\/span><\/a>, which will now be snubbed in favour of moving to the Bundesliga.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kone is one of the brightest young midfield prospects in France. A versatile midfielder, the 19-year-old is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder and a central midfielder. Kone made his debut on the final day of the 2018\/19 <\/span>Ligue 1<\/span><\/a>\u00a0season. The midfielder featured 13 times for the Les Violets<\/em> last season but saw his side relegated to Ligue 2.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since, Kone has only gone on from strength to strength. This season has seen Kone establishing himself as a regular in the starting line-up. The midfielder has made an appearance in every match for Toulouse and has started 14 of them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Manu Kone will be the second player to arrive at Borussia Park this January after Joe Scally<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Italian giants had earlier made a\u00a0<\/span>\u20ac15 million bid for the 20-year-old Strasbourg defender<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Simakan has been one of the brighter spots for Strasbourg in what has been a poor start for the season.<\/p>\n
