Nottingham Forest boss Chris Hughton says the Reds are “actively” looking into a loan move away for defender Nicholas Ioannou.<\/p>\n
The Cypriot defender was rumoured to be making a loan move to Greek side Aris Thessaloniki.<\/p>\n
His last appearance for the Reds was a 1-1 draw against Luton Town in which he was sent off.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Nottinghamshire Live ahead of Forest’s FA Cup tie with Cardiff City, Hughton said:<\/a> “It’s never for me to speak about individual clubs, but what I can say is we have spoken to Ioannou about the possibility of going out – going out on loan and playing games.<\/p>\n “That is something we are actively trying to do, but it’s not my responsibility to name clubs.<\/p>\n “It’s fair to say there is a good chance he’ll be going out.”<\/p>\n Yuri Riberio has since adopted the left-back position as his own, relegating Ioannou to the substitutes’ bench on six occasions.<\/p>\n Departures will be the main focus for Nottingham Forest this month, with Hughton keen to reduce the squad from its already large size.<\/p>\n The Reds had 14 signings arrive at the City Ground this summer; however, only one of those arrived under Hughton.<\/p>\n Nicholas Ioannou seemed to always be on the list of players facing a possible exit<\/a>, with playing time proving limited, but a loan away looks to be the best bet.<\/p>\nDepartures Key to Forest Transfer Activity<\/h3>\n
