Aston Villa<\/a> have become the latest side to feel the effects of the coronavirus. The club have confirmed an outbreak of the virus at their training ground.<\/p>\n

As a result, Villa have closed their Bodymoor Heath Training Ground and their FA Cup<\/a> tie with Liverpool<\/a> tomorrow evening is in doubt.<\/p>\n

Many Villa Players Self-Isolating<\/h3>\n

A large number of Villa players and staff are already in self-isolation after returning a positive test recently.<\/p>\n

However, following a second round of testing today, the club have received more positive tests. As a result, Villa have cancelled training this morning and closed their training ground.<\/p>\n

Dean Smith\u2019s scheduled press conference was also cancelled, and now the Villains’ whole bubble will enter self-isolation.<\/p>\n

Villa are the latest side to report a covid outbreak in their camp.\u00a0 They follow Derby County<\/a> and Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> in shutting their training grounds<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A statement read<\/a>: \u201cAston Villa can confirm that the Club has closed its Bodymoor Heath training ground after a significant Coronavirus outbreak.<\/p>\n

\u201cA large number of first-team players and staff returned positive tests after being routinely tested on Monday and immediately went into isolation.<\/p>\n

\u201cA second round of testing was carried out immediately and produced more positive results today.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst team training ahead of tomorrow\u2019s FA Cup match with Liverpool was cancelled.<\/p>\n

\u201cDiscussions are ongoing between medical representatives of the Club, the Football Association and the Premier League.\u201d<\/p>\n

Villa\u2019s FA Cup Tie With Liverpool In Severe Doubt<\/h3>\n

Following the news of a significant covid outbreak, Villa\u2019s FA Cup third-round tie with Liverpool is now in major doubt.<\/p>\n

With several first-team members and staff missing, Villa could be forced into playing youngsters if the game goes ahead. However, the side’s medical staff remain in dialogue with the Premier League and FA about the situation.<\/p>\n

Due to the outbreak, Villa\u2019s next league game against Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> which is scheduled to take place on the 13th<\/sup> of January is also in doubt.<\/p>\n
