West Bromwich Albion<\/a> manager Sam Allardyce<\/a> could be set to make a breakthrough in the transfer market. Allardyce is desperate to strengthen his struggling side and is believed to be in talks with West Ham United<\/a> winger Robert Snodgrass. Sky Sports<\/a> have reported that Albion and Snodgrass are in advanced talks over a permanent move.<\/p>\n

Robert Snodgrass Surplus to Requirements at West Ham<\/h3>\n

Robert Snodgrass is reportedly deemed surplus to requirements at West Ham. With his current contract due to expire this summer, a permanent deal would suit all parties concerned. It would also leave Allardyce with extra space to sign another player on loan should Snodgrass sign permanently.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 33-year-old Scottish international signed for the Hammers in 2017 from Hull City<\/a> for a fee of around \u00a310 million. He has since made 86 appearances, scoring 11 goals. During his time London Stadium, the winger also had a season on loan at Aston Villa<\/a> helping them to the Championship play-off final.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This season, manager David Moyes<\/a> has used Snodgrass just six times. He has played three games in the Premier League and three in the League Cup, scoring twice.<\/p>\n

Sam Allardyce Desperate to Add to His Struggling Side<\/b><\/h3>\n

West Brom manager Sam Allardyce, who took over at the Hawthorns in December following the sacking of Slaven Bilic<\/a>, is desperate to add to his squad. Since arriving, the Baggies have struggled, especially in defence where the former England<\/a> and Sunderland<\/a> manager has seen his side concede 13 goals in four games. Only one point has been collected in these games, a 1-1 draw at Liverpool<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking as the January window opened, Allardyce said<\/a>: \u201cThe window has only just opened and we will do what we can find players in this pandemic.<\/p>\n

“I think it will be the hardest window I have ever worked in. But if players are available – and this is said with no disrespect to my players at all because they are all trying as hard as they can – but I do have to try and find better to lift the squad and lift their confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n
