Following the comments from Jurgen Klopp in which he pointed out that Manchester United<\/a> had received more penalties than his Liverpool side in two years than the entirety of the German’s reign, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has responded.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Solskjaer’s Response to Klopp<\/span><\/h3>\n

In response to Klopp, Solskjaer stated<\/a>: “That’s a fact? Probably.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0“That’s probably going to be my answer, that’s a fact that we’ve got more than them. I don’t count how many penalties they’ve had, so if they want to spend time on worrying about when we get fouled in the box\u2026 I don’t spend time on that.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I can’t talk on behalf of other managers, why they say things like this,” he said. “I felt it worked last year in the semi in the FA Cup, because Frank [Lampard] spoke about it and we had a nailed-on penalty that we should have had, that we didn’t get.<\/span><\/p>\n

“So maybe it’s a way of influencing the referees. I don’t know. But I don’t worry about that. When they foul our players it’s a penalty when it’s inside the box.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Jurgen Klopp Frustrated<\/span><\/h3>\n

Following a 1-0 loss to Southampton<\/a>, in which referee Andre Marriner controversially failed to award a penalty, Jurgen Klopp was quick to air his frustrations.<\/span><\/p>\n

The German told Sky Sports, following the game<\/a>: “I hear now that Manchester United had more penalties in two years than I had in five-and-a-half years. I’ve no idea if that’s my fault, or how that can happen. But it’s no excuse for the performance. We cannot change it, we have to respect the decisions.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Now three games without a win, the frustration from Klopp seems to be appearing through his interviews. As we approach the fixture between Manchester United and Liverpool on January 17, the exchange between both\u00a0 has certainly Klopp and Solskjaer added to what will be a fiery affair,<\/span><\/p>\n
