Leicester City<\/a> midfielder Matty James<\/a> has returned from a loan spell at Barnsley but is being sent back on loan to Championship rivals Coventry City, reports The Athletic’s Rob Tanner<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Leicester City Midfielder Matty James Set for Coventry City Loan Following Barnsley Recall<\/h2>\n

Called Back From Barnsley but Straight Out to Championship Rivals Coventry<\/h3>\n

The 29-year-old midfielder joined the Foxes from Manchester United<\/a> in 2012 and has made over 100 appearances for the club. But, his last appearance came last season when he played five minutes in a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.<\/a><\/p>\n

James has spent the first half of the season on loan at Championship club Barnsley, a side he also spent time on loan at during the 2016\/17 season.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old has made 15 appearances for the Tykes this season, taking his combined outings to 33 for the club.<\/p>\n

Barnsley were hopeful of keeping hold of the midfielder but the Foxes have recalled him and sent him out to Championship rivals, Coventry City.<\/p>\n

Injury Woes Have Hampered Career<\/h3>\n

The lack of game time at Leicester has been largely down to a series of injuries. James has struggled to regain full fitness since rupturing his ACL against Southampton<\/a> in 2015.<\/p>\n

Coventry will be hoping the worst of his injuries are behind him after he lead the Tykes to six wins from the last eight games that he was involved in.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
