Bournemouth<\/a> chief executive Neill Blake has condemned racist abuse aimed at winger Junior Stanislas following the club’s win at Stoke City<\/a>. The 31-year-old was subjected to racist slurs and family insults on Twitter after he scored the only goal in the 1-0 victory.<\/p>\n

Blake has vowed to do all that is possible to identify the individual and take the strongest possible action against the.<\/p>\n

Bournemouth Condemn Racist Abuse Aimed at Junior Stanislas<\/h2>\n

‘Disgusting and Completely Intolerable’<\/h3>\n

In a statement, Blake said<\/a>: \u201cIt is both disgusting and completely intolerable that anyone could be subjected to the racial abuse that Junior has received.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am astounded that people believe writing and posting these comments is acceptable. We will be contacting Twitter and the Football Association for their help in identifying the individual concerned and will pursue the strongest possible action against them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe strongly believe that social media platforms need to take greater responsibility and accountability for the actions of their users and the content that is published on their platforms.”<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cWe would wholeheartedly support any movement towards ensuring that all social media accounts are verified through formal identification and therefore make the users liable for their actions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe club\u2019s stance on any form of discrimination is unequivocal. It is completely unacceptable and must be called out and acted upon whenever and wherever it is found.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are a club which celebrates equality, diversity and inclusion, as highlighted by our ongoing \u2018Everyone Together\u2019 campaign, which tackles prejudice and promotes understanding.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe stand firmly with Junior and will continue to work tirelessly to educate and rid the game of all forms of discrimination.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stanislas’ goal in the win over Stoke took the Cherries up to third in the Championship table. They remain six points behind leaders Norwich City with a game in hand.<\/p>\n
