Elsewhere, a 14th defeat for Wycombe this campaign sees The Chairboys still at the foot of the table and still without a win against teams in the top half.<\/p>\n<h2>Blackburn Rovers, Coventry City and Middlesbrough Star in Latest Round of Championship<\/h2>\n<h3>Dack is Back to Sink Struggling Blues<\/h3>\n<p>Blackburn Rovers inflicted more damage on an already struggling Birmingham City, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/55450060\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">winning 2-0 at St Andrews.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/68c720b5\/Adam-Armstrong?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Adam Armstrong<\/a> opened the scoring after just ten minutes, firing past <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/2642bf6c\/Neil-Etheridge?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Neil Etheridge<\/a> expertly after latching onto <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/c8387671\/Harvey-Elliot?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Harvey Elliot<\/a>&#8216;s perfectly-weighted through ball. For the next 80 minutes, it remained 1-0, but the hosts were unable to create any chances to level the game. Rovers did manage to find a second, deep into injury time, with <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/542d4f02\/Bradley-Dack?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bradley Dack<\/a> finding the back of the net for the first time since November 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Victory for Blackburn takes them into 11th place and will once again be eyeing up a top-six finish, moving to within six points of <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/clubs\/watford\/\" target=\"_self\">Watford<\/a>. However, Birmingham still sit in 18th but are now just four points above Derby County in 22nd.<\/p>\n<h3>Coventry City Outplay Millwall to Eighth Home Game Without Victory<\/h3>\n<p>Coventry City put on a dominant display against Millwall to record a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/55450056\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2-1 victory in South East London<\/a>, putting even more pressure on Lions boss <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/92c33b52\/Gary-Rowett?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gary Rowett<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/aa7dfc40\/Jake-Cooper?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jake Cooper<\/a> own goal made it 1-0 to the visitors in the 20th minute, after he was unable to divert <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/3c13cd5d\/Jordan-Shipley?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jordan Shipley<\/a>&#8216;s effort away from goal after it had hit the post. It was two just six minutes later when <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/eebacc07\/Gustavo-Hamer?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gustavo Hamer<\/a> volleyed into the bottom corner after his previous attempt came flying back to him. The Sky Blues had several chances to add a third and subsequently kill the game off, but were unable to convert. <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/45194ce9\/Jed-Wallace?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jed Wallace<\/a> pulled a goal back for the hosts from the penalty spot in the 74th minute, but Coventry stood strong and finished the game the better side once again.<\/p>\n<p>Millwall drop to 17th in the Championship table, carrying on their dreadful run into the new year. Whereas Coventry City have overtaken the Lions, and now occupy 16th place.<\/p>\n<h3>Boro Score Three to Pile Pressure on Play-off Spots<\/h3>\n<p>Middlesbrough had to come from a goal behind to eventually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/55450059\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">win 3-1<\/a> against bottom of the table, Wycombe Wanderers, continuing the Chairboys&#8217; poor record against those in the top half.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/b3a3638d\/Uche-Ikpeazu?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Uche Ikpeazu<\/a> fired the division&#8217;s bottom side into the lead when he cut in and curled an effort beyond <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/0d85a4e8\/Marcus-Bettinelli?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marcus Bettinelli<\/a> in the Boro goal. However, the Buckinghamshire side&#8217;s lead was short-lived, with Marcus Browne&#8217;s header restoring parity just four minutes later.
