Manchester United<\/a> are interested in signing Norwich City<\/a> fullback Max Aarons<\/a>, according to Fabrizio Romano<\/a>. Despite the interest, though, the Englishman is not currently close to joining the Red Devils.<\/p>\n

Manchester United Eyeing Up Max Aarons<\/h2>\n

Catching the Eye With Norwich<\/h3>\n

Aarons has caught the eye<\/a> of a number of top teams with his performances for boyhood club Norwich City. There were rumours<\/a> circulating that the young defender was close to a big move last season, and these were heightened when Norwich were relegated from the Premier League<\/a>. The canaries were able to hang onto Aarons, though, and he has continued as their first-choice right-back.<\/p>\n

During January, Norwich will hope that the Red Devils don’t make a move for their young English defender. Max Aarons is not currently close to joining Manchester United, but if United decide to pursue their interest, it could be very difficult for the Canaries to keep their star right-back.<\/p>\n

Manchester United Signing Young Players<\/h3>\n

Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer<\/a> took over at Old Trafford, their transfer priorities have tended to lie in young players.<\/p>\n

The likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka<\/a>, Daniel James<\/a>, Facundo Pellistri<\/a>, and Amad Diallo<\/a> are all young players who the club have bought over the past year and a half.<\/p>\n

As both young and English, Aarons would fit perfectly into the Manchester side’s new transfer initiative.<\/p>\n

Not only would he fit the bill in terms of his age, but he would also fix a gap in the Reds’ team.<\/p>\n

Wan-Bissaka is currently their only starting quality right-back, and with Aarons already Premier League proven, he could provide a more attacking alternative to the former Crystal Palace<\/a> player.<\/p>\n

Brandon Williams<\/a> can play on the right side of defence, but has only seen six minutes of Premier League football so far this season.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Timothy Fosu-Mensah<\/a> may have a new contract at Old Trafford<\/a> on the horizon, but he is also considering other options, and Aarons would be an improvement on the Dutchman regardless.<\/p>\n
