So far this season, League One which has been disrupted the most with games for <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2020\/12\/27\/sunderland-game-at-accrington-stanley-suspended\/\" target=\"_self\">Sunderland<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2020\/12\/23\/portsmouth-covid19-games-suspended\/\" target=\"_self\">Portsmouth<\/a> facing cancellation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Now, with<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2020\/12\/01\/newcastle-united-match-against-aston-villa-postponed-due-to-coronavirus-outbreak\/\" target=\"_self\"> Newcastle United&#8217;s game against Aston Villa<\/a> suffering a similar fate a couple of weeks ago, alongside last night&#8217;s game at Goodison Park, it is looking increasingly likely that some form of action will take place.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Premier League Clubs Discuss Break Following Rise in COVID-19 Cases<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">COVID-19 Cases Rising\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">With COVID-19 cases rising in the Premier League, those in charge may be left with no choice but to take action. In the recent round of testing alone, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2020\/12\/29\/premier-league-confirms-18-new-positive-coronavirus-tests-among-clubs-in-latest-testing\/\" target=\"_self\">18 tests came back as positive out of a total of 1,497- the highest number to date.\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Throughout the first lockdown, the numbers were not as high. Yet, football still came to a standstill. Now, with the cases higher than ever, we could well see the Premier League come to a halt once again.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Fulham v Tottenham Hotspur &#8216;in Doubt&#8217;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The game between Everton and Manchester City may not be the last fixture to be postponed in the coming weeks. <a href=\"https:\/\/theathletic.com\/news\/fulham-tottenham-coronavirus-cases-latest\/5AgGHiSdSfVj\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">According to The Athletic<\/a>, the tie between Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur is in doubt after positive COVID-19 tests.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">S<a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/football\/2020\/12\/29\/exclusive-premier-league-clubs-discuss-two-week-break-season\/?utm_content=football&amp;utm_medium=Social&amp;utm_campaign=Echobox&amp;utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1609260329\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">outhampton&#8217;s game against West Ham United, however, will go ahead as planned<\/a>.
