West Ham United<\/a> have confirmed that Michail Antonio<\/a> has signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal with the club.<\/p>\n

From Winger to Striker<\/h3>\n

Antonio’s five-year spell with the Hammers has seen him converted from an out and out winger to a striker.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old has enjoyed the best spell of his career in East London. It is his most successful club, having scored 41 goals in 161 appearances for the club.<\/p>\n

Antonio’s best season in a Claret and Blue shirt. He beat his previous best of nine goals in a single season by registering 10 during the Coronavirus-hit 2019\/20 season. Six of those came during the post-lockdown part of the campaign, including four in a single game against Norwich City<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old has also enjoyed a good start to this season. He has three goals from seven games, including the opener in their 1-1 draw against Manchester City.<\/a><\/p>\n

Securing Antonio to a new two-and-a-half-year deal is good business by the Hammers and manager David Moyes. The versatile forward is hard-working, reliable and can provide the goals in pivotal moments.<\/p>\n

What Was Said?<\/h3>\n

Speaking about his new deal to the West Ham United website,<\/a> Antonio said: “I got eight goals in one month, so I\u2019ve got two-and-half years now to see how many more I can get and how far I can get!<\/p>\n

\u201cI definitely want to get to the 50-goal mark in the Premier League and see how I can go on from there.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been here for five-and-a-half years, this season will be six and by the time my contract expires it will be eight years.<\/p>\n

“Before I signed here, the longest I had been at a club was two years, so it shows that I\u2019ve been here, done my work, been able to secure my position and keep growing as a player.\u201d<\/p>\n
