Chelsea’s Marc Guehi<\/a> is reportedly impressing<\/a> many at Chelsea<\/a> with his performances so far for Swansea City<\/a> – so much so that they are considering promoting him to the first-team in the summer.<\/p>\n

Solid Showings From Guehi for Swansea<\/h3>\n

The defender has spent two seasons out loan at Swansea, where he has consistently put in a string of solid performances for the Championship club. In fact, he has arguably become one of their most important players during his time there.<\/p>\n

Featuring in 27 games for Swansea so far, his performances at the heart of defence have caught the eye of his parent club.<\/p>\n

Chelsea’s Marc Guehi Could Make First-Team Move in Summer<\/h3>\n

They are now believed to be considering the possibility of bringing the player back to the club in the summer and moving him up to the first-team. They at least want to have him train with the starting squad over the course of pre-season to watch him even more closely and that could then lead to a full-time promotion.<\/p>\n

Guehi May Need a Premier League Loan<\/h3>\n

The only potential issue that remains is if Chelsea believe he is ready for Premier League football – Guehi has only played at Championship level so far and therefore would have to make the jump up a tier if he started to play for Chelsea.<\/p>\n

That means that he may have to spend another season out on loan first, to a team in the top tier, but, if the 20-year old continues to impress on a regular basis then he may not even need to do that.<\/p>\n

Guehi is of course yet to make his professional debut at Stamford Bridge and also remains just 20-years of age. However, if he continues to put in the solid showings that he is doing at Swansea in the Championship, then that first-team call up looks like it may not be too far away for the young defender.<\/p>\n
