They played a significantly weaker team as a result, but Jota, who has been in red-hot form so far this season, still started the game.<\/p>\n<p>Klopp will feel that he respected the competition and the opposition by keeping in-form players in the side and allowing Jota to potentially continue his high-scoring campaign. However, the plan has clearly backfired now, leaving Liverpool with limited options up front.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/43a166b4\/Divock-Origi?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Divock Origi<\/a>, who has played the back-up role so well in previous seasons, has been less than impressive when given opportunities this season. The same can be said for <a href=\"https:\/\/fbref.com\/en\/players\/f833a830\/Takumi-Minamino?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Takumi Minamino<\/a>, who has just three competitive goals for the club since moving from RB Salzburg.<\/p>\n<h3>Extent of Injury<\/h3>\n<p>The injury to Jota comes at a bad point for Liverpool, who have games against league leaders <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/clubs\/tottenham\/\" target=\"_self\">Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> and tough-to-beat <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/clubs\/crystal-palace\/\" target=\"_self\">Crystal Palace<\/a> coming up after this weekend&#8217;s clash at<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/clubs\/fulham\/\" target=\"_self\"> Fulham<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One positive aspect to this news, though, is that Jota will not require surgery to his knee, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/skysports_PatD\/status\/1338145509031243778\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sky Sports&#8217; Patrick Davison<\/a>.
