The 53-year-old has been out of management since his exit from Juventus in the summer of 2019 but, a return to the technical area looks to be on the cards.

Allegri Wants Premier League Job

Potential Suitors in the Premier League

The Premier League sack race is never an easy one to predict. One moment, a manager can look on the verge of dismissal; the next, they could be a candidate for manager of the month after turning things around.

As we enter the festive period, however, the pressure will begin to mount, and vacancies will start to open. Already, with Manchester United and Arsenal struggling so far this season, the question of how long Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Mikel Arteta have left has been posed.

With the likes of Allegri and Mauricio Pochettino currently available, too, clubs may be quicker than ever to make a swift decision.

Potential Suitors Elsewhere

Of course, there is also potential job openings elsewhere around Europe. With each Real Madrid defeat comes the question of Zinedine Zidane’s job security. After back to back losses to Shakhtar Donetsk, too, a place in the Europa League could be pending.

And that could be the final straw for Florentino Perez who may be forced to dismiss a club legend, leaving the door open for the likes of Allegri and Pochettino to re-enter management.

It will certainly be interesting to watch as things develop over the season. Should a big job become vacant, one would assume that Allegri would be high on the candidacy list- whether it be in England or elsewhere.

He may have stated his desire to work in England, but, the fact is, he’ll be desperate to return to management in Europe.

Main Photo
Embed from Getty Images

In an interview with the Times, former AC Milan and Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has stated his desire to work in the Premier League.
