The fact is, the Frenchman went from future star to transfer flop in Merseyside; a move looked likely, but perhaps to a mid-table Premier League side- basing it off the form he was in. As it turns out, however, he had some secret admirers in Paris who helped to secure one of the most unexpected deals of the summer. Since that move, of course, he has been rejuvenated and back on track to reach his once incredible potential.

Moise Kean: Back on Track in Paris

Kean Back to His Best

Upon sealing a move to Everton from Juventus for £27 million, Kean looked likely to reach stardom in the Premier League. In fact, many were quick to suggest that it was Everton who were getting the best part of the deal.

Months later, though, that opinion soon changed; it looked like Everton had been robbed of that £27 million fee. They invested in a young prospect who looked destined to succeed, but ended up with an out of form Italian who netted just two goals in 33 appearances.

The former Juventus man needed a change of scenery, and quick, in order to reach his potential. So up stepped PSG, and since then, Kean hasn’t looked back. So far this season, the Italian has already outscored last season’s measly tally of two goals with an impressive total of eight in just 15 appearances. Despite failing in Merseyside, with the help of Neymar and co, Kean looks as clinical as ever and is slowly becoming a key part of Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Hope for Everton Career

Everton and Carlo Ancelotti will undoubtedly be watching on from afar with immense relief. They could have cashed in on the out of favour forward but went for a loan deal instead- crucially without the option to buy.

Now, the Toffees are left with a choice. They either cash in for Kean whose value should have rocketed since the beginning of the season. Or, they can utilise the former Juventus man to create one of the deadliest frontlines in the Premier League.

Using Kean in a front three alongside Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be the secret to Everton’s European hopes. The question of whether the combination would succeed is certainly one that could be answered next season. For now, though, Kean will undoubtedly continue to flourish in Paris; continue to reach his potential, and continue to play a key part in PSG’s success.

It is worth noting, however, how impressive an Everton squad with the added talent of the Frenchman at his best would be. This campaign, they’ve been good. Add Kean to the mix, and they could have themselves a permanent place in the Premier League’s top six.

Main Photo
Embed from Getty Images

2020 may have produced some strange occurrences, but an out of form and out of favour Moise Kean sealing a loan move to Paris Saint-Germain still came as a shock to many.
