Chelsea<\/a> striker Olivier Giroud<\/a> has said he wants to remain with the club but only if he gets more minutes ahead of next summer\u2019s European Championships.<\/p>\n

Giroud scored all four goals for the Blues against Sevilla but has been warned by France manager, Didier Deschamps, that he needs regular game-time to remain in contention for the national team.<\/p>\n

Speaking in The Telegraph<\/a>, Giroud said: \u201cObviously to be happy I need to be a little more on the pitch. The gaffer gave me the opportunity on Wednesday to play more, and I hope I\u2019m going to have more opportunities again because I think I have shown him that I am ready to fight for the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I play more than in the beginning of the season, I think I have a good chance to be fit and ready for the Euros. I had a conversation with Didier Deschamps and obviously he said if the situation stayed like that, you [Giroud] will have to take a decision in January.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, the 34-year old remains confident he can break into the starting XI despite his age and Chelsea\u2019s wealth of attacking talent.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I am pretty sure that I can grab some more game-time and stay at Chelsea because that is what I want,” he continued. “I want to win trophies with Chelsea. Basically, that is it.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut you never know in football \u2013 everything is going very fast. But now I am very happy. I am a happy man and I am proud to be a Chelsea player.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel very good physically. I try to keep in good shape and work hard in training every single day. I believe it\u2019s not about your age.\u201d<\/p>\n

Oliver Giroud: Success in Blue<\/h3>\n

Since arriving at Chelsea from Arsenal<\/a> in January 2018, Giroud has scored 34 goals in 98 appearances, many of which have come in crucial matches.<\/a><\/p>\n

The 2017 Puskas Award recipient has also added FA Cup<\/a> and Europa League<\/a> honours to his trophy cabinet whilst at Stamford Bridge, either side of winning the 2018 World Cup with France.<\/p>\n

However, Giroud has been limited to just two starts in all competitions this season and finds himself behind the likes of Tammy Abraham<\/a>, Kai Havertz<\/a>, Hakim Ziyech<\/a> and Timo Werner<\/a> in the Chelsea hierarchy.<\/p>\n
