The games keep coming thick and fast in the Championship, with Cardiff City,<\/a> Brentford and Luton Town impressing in the latest game-week. The top of the Championship table is growing increasingly congested with only two points separating first and seventh.<\/p>\n

Additionally, there are now a whole host of teams waiting outside of the play-off, waiting for their chance to break into the top six, with Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough both showing good form of late.<\/p>\n

Important Wins for Cardiff, Brentford and Luton<\/h2>\n

Cardiff City 3-0 Huddersfield Town<\/h3>\n

Kieffer Moore<\/a>‘s brace and Robert Glatzel<\/a>‘s strike earned Cardiff a 3-0 victory<\/a> and their second comfortable home victory in the space of four days.<\/p>\n

The towering forward converted from Shayi Ojo’s inviting cross after 35 minutes, before adding a second midway through the second half. Glatzel added a third with five minutes left to play, turning and converting in style, making the score-line seem a lot more comfortable than the game played out.<\/p>\n

Two consecutive home wins see the Bluebirds leapfrog over their opponents and into 12th place, whilst the defeat for Huddersfield sees the Terriers drop down to 16th.<\/p>\n

Rotherham United 0-2 Brentford<\/h3>\n

Two second-half goals<\/a> saw Brentford move into the playoffs but were given a tough test by a well-organised Rotherham United side.<\/p>\n

21-year-old striker Marcus Forss<\/a> was given his first start of the season by Brentford boss Thomas Frank, who rewarded his manager by scoring the opener after 57 minutes. The Bees made it two just eight minutes from time when Ivan Toney<\/a> coolly converted from the penalty spot, claiming his 13th goal of the season.<\/p>\n

Brentford now sit just two points off league leaders Norwich City<\/a> with their recent run of form taking them into fourth place. Rotherham have now gone four games without a win and are in danger of slipping into the relegation zone as they are only three points clear of the bottom three.<\/p>\n

Luton Town 3-1 Norwich City<\/h3>\n

One of the more surprising results during this latest game-week was Luton Town’s 3-1 victory<\/a> over league leaders Norwich City.<\/a> The Hatters scored three goals in a game for the first time since July and inflicted Norwich’s heaviest defeat all season, ending their ten-game unbeaten run.<\/p>\n

George Moncur<\/a> fired the Hatters ahead after 15 minutes when he cut in from the left and guided the ball past Michael McGovern<\/a> from outside of the area. Emi Buendia<\/a> then equalised just four minutes later, converting from the penalty spot after Luton goalkeeper James Shea<\/a> brought down Przemyslaw Placheta<\/a> inside of the area. However their parity was short-lived and the Hatters were soon back ahead, thanks to a Matty Pearson<\/a> power header. James Collins<\/a> completed the scoring in the 47th minute, firing a fortuitously given penalty into the back of the net.<\/p>\n

Victory for the Hatters shoots them back into 11th place, whilst Norwich still lead the way. However, the Canaries have a whole host of teams lining up should they not pick up maximum points against Sheffield Wednesday.<\/p>\n
