Kevin De Bruyne<\/a> is set to extend his contract at Manchester City<\/a> beyond 2023 as talks continue to progress, according to Fabrizio Romano.<\/a><\/p>\n

The transfer expert also proclaimed that the contract extension would be at the famous \u2018here we go\u2019 stage soon.<\/p>\n

Contract Talks Underway<\/h3>\n

The PFA Players\u2019 Player of the Year signed from Wolfsburg<\/a> in 2015 for \u00a355 million and currently still has two and a half years left on his deal.<\/p>\n

De Bruyne was an unused substitute in Tuesday\u2019s draw to Porto<\/a> in the UEFA Champions League<\/a> but has continued to be instrumental for his team, registering nine assists<\/a> in ten games so far this season in all competitions.<\/p>\n

During the international break last month, where the attacking midfielder helped Belgium beat England 2-0 in the Nations League<\/a>, he told VTM Nieuws<\/a>: \u201cI am happy in Manchester. I am at a good club. Good owners. Good club.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 29-year old revealed to the Belgian TV Station that he was representing himself after his former agent ran into trouble with the law.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow I do it myself. I would like to stay with Man City, so it is not a difficult situation. If I didn\u2019t want to stay, it would take someone to mediate.”<\/p>\n

Manager Commits Future<\/h3>\n

City\u2019s vice-captain is set to follow in the footsteps of his manager Pep Guardiola, <\/a>who also ended speculation over his future by agreeing on a new two-year deal<\/a> at the club. Guardiola\u2019s current contract was due to run out in seven months.<\/p>\n

The new deal is set to see the longest tenure the Spaniard has spent in charge as a manager in the hot-seat.<\/p>\n

Manchester City are close to completing the signing of Dario Sarmiento<\/a> from Estudiantes, <\/a>according to Romano<\/a>. The 17-year-old is set to join for \u20ac9 million-plus add-ons which may eventually reach \u20ac19 million. It is said he would arrive next summer in June 2021 to plan his future which may lead him to North America first with New York City<\/a>.<\/p>\n
