Middlesbrough<\/a> defender Grant Hall<\/a> could miss up to “12 to 16 weeks” of action due to a thigh injury, manager Neil Warnock has confirmed.<\/p>\n

Grant Hall to Miss Up to Four Months With Injury<\/h2>\n

29-Year-Old Has Made Four Appearances Since Joining Boro in the Summer<\/h3>\n

Speaking to the club website<\/a>, Warnock said:\u00a0 “It’s a real blow. I’m absolutely gutted for him. It’s a front thigh injury.”<\/p>\n

Warnock wasn’t sure if surgery would be required, adding: “We don’t know if he’ll need an operation or not. We’ve had different opinions so we’ll have to make a decision on what’s best.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“It was quite innocuous. He finished a physical session and just made a side-pass into the goals, but he pulled up holding the front of his thigh.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The scan is worse than we first thought.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Hall at Boro<\/h3>\n

Hall joined Boro in the summer on a free transfer.<\/a> The 29-year-old was a free agent after leaving Queen’s Park Rangers on the expiry of his contract.<\/p>\n

The centre-back started his career at non-league side Lewes before transferring to Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a> in 2009.<\/p>\n

Hall was also on the books of Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> in 2012 but failed to make a first-team appearance for the North London side.<\/p>\n

Loan spells followed at Swindon Town<\/a>, Birmingham City<\/a> and Blackpool<\/a> before signing permanently at Loftus Road after a successful trial.<\/p>\n

He made 119 appearances for QPR over five seasons, scoring six goals.<\/p>\n

Hall joins forward Ashley Fletcher<\/a> as a long-term absentee, and with midfielder Marcus Browne<\/a> also still sidelined, Warnock confirmed he has yet to finalise his squad ahead of Wednesday’s match against Swansea City. He added: “We\u2019ll have a look at the lads after training today.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019ve over 24 hours before the game so we\u2019ll see how things are looking.”<\/p>\n

Middlesbrough are 10th in the Championship, three points off the play-off places.<\/p>\n
