Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed David de Gea<\/a> will require a knee scan after picking up an injury during Manchester United<\/a>‘s 3-2 comeback win over Southampton<\/a> on Sunday, November 29.<\/p>\n

Knee Scan Needed for David De Gea After Collision With Post<\/h2>\n

As if James Ward Prowse\u2019s <\/a>free-kick giving Southampton a two-goal lead at St Mary\u2019s wasn\u2019t bad enough for Manchester United, the goalkeeper colliding with the post was an extra bit of gloom. Ward Prowse\u2019s free-kick crept in at the near post and David de Gea hit his knee as he scrambled to try and keep the ball out of the net.<\/p>\n

The Spanish International stayed on until the break but had to be replaced for the second half by Dean Henderson.<\/a><\/p>\n

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Confirms Knee Scan for David De Gea<\/h3>\n

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed to Sky Sports<\/a> that the keeper would be sent for a scan to investigate the extent of any potential damage:<\/p>\n

“Let’s have a little scan or check on (De Gea),” Solskjaer said. “Hopefully he will be okay for Wednesday but I’m not sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dean Henderson\u2019s Chance<\/h3>\n

Dean Henderson finally got his Premier League<\/a> chance for Manchester United and will have been delighted to keep a clean sheet in the second 45 minutes of the game. \u00a0When De Gea left the pitch, United were trailing 2-0 and heading for another defeat. Solskjaer was pleased<\/a> with the performance of the young keeper:<\/p>\n

“Dean played well though. He is a ‘keeper who is used to being vocal. He wants to organise his team. He didn’t have big saves to make but he was safe with his hands.”<\/p>\n

Since returning to his parent club after a successful stint on loan last season with Sheffield United<\/a>, Henderson has found game time hard to come by. Another loan move in January has been mooted but the Manchester United manager was quick to play down<\/a> that idea saying that the player “wants to stay at Manchester United”,\u00a0amid reports he could leave on loan in January.<\/p>\n

Champions League Next for Manchester United<\/h3>\n

Solskjaer is hoping that De Gea will be okay for the Champions League<\/a> tie on Wednesday 2nd December against Paris Saint Germain.<\/a> If he is not cleared to play, Dean Henderson will be ready to step in for what would be the biggest game of his career to date.<\/p>\n
