In a recent press conference<\/a>, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that Jesse Lingard<\/a> is in self-isolation after contact with someone who has since tested positive, among other news.<\/p>\n

Jesse Lingard Struggling to Get Game Time This Season<\/h3>\n

Lingard, with just over a year left on his contract, has been struggling to get into the starting team for Manchester United<\/a> this season.<\/p>\n

The Englishman has only started once for United in 2020\/21, managing 99 minutes over two Carabou cup games in total. He has only been named on the bench twice in United\u2019s Premier League<\/a> campaign so far.<\/p>\n

It looks as though his situation will not be improving in the immediate future, with the 27-year-old now having to quarantine after contact with a positive case.<\/p>\n

Lingard does not seem to fit with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer\u2019s plans for Manchester United, and it is likely that they will look to offload him<\/a> at some point in the next few months.<\/p>\n

Paul Pogba Returning From a Knock<\/h3>\n

Also in this press conference, Solskjaer said that he expects to call upon Paul Pogba<\/a> in United\u2019s upcoming Champions League<\/a> fixture against Istanbul Basaksehir.<\/p>\n

Solskjaer explained: “We hope he’s going to be available, he trained this morning. See if there’s any reaction when we report tomorrow\u201d.<\/p>\n

The French midfielder struggled with an ankle issue last year, but will hope to put that behind him as he tries to get going after a rough start to the season.<\/p>\n

Solskjaer Gives Other Injury Information<\/h3>\n

The United manager gave a further insight into the rest of the team\u2019s injury list heading into their Champions League clash.<\/p>\n

“Still Luke Shaw<\/a> is out, Phil Jones<\/a> is out. Jesse is still self-isolating after being in contact with a positive [coronavirus] case,\u201d he informed the press.<\/p>\n

“There’s one or two little things we need to look at in the morning but hopefully everyone else is available.”<\/p>\n

Before the Manchester side\u2019s weekend fixture against West Bromwich Albion<\/a>, the fitness of Harry Maguire<\/a> and Victor Lindelof<\/a> had been uncertain<\/a>, and they may be rested against Istanbul in order to aid their recovery. Mason Greenwood<\/a> will also be starting to get more game time soon after a disrupted start to the campaign.<\/p>\n
